AVIAKON handed over a batch of multi-purpose helicopters to the Army

State Enterprise «Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant «АVIAKON», which is a member of UKROBORONPROM, handed over another batch of overhauled and series-modernized Mi-24PU1 helicopters to the Army Aviation of the Land Forces  of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It was carried out in framework of the Government’s Defense Order implementation.

AVIAKON’s specialists fitted the helicopters with upgraded domestic weapon systems and aviation sights, MANPADS protection systems and engines with enhanced characteristics.

High quality of works was proven during test and acceptance flights at SE “AVIAKON”. On completion of technical acceptance and familiarization flights conducted by the Army Aviation crews, the modernized helicopters were flown to their permanent deployment site and embarked on combat missions.

Multi-purpose Mi-24PU1 helicopters are intended to destroy armored vehicles, increase the mobility of ground combat units and ensure fire support on the battlefield. Due to the upgrade, these machines are capable of day-and-night application, they meet up-to-date requirements and trends of the global helicopter-construction domain and military aviation tactics development.

Adherence by the enterprise to contractual obligations, continuous improvement of overhaul procedures, implementation of  import substitution measures and award-wining quality of works, even under the quarantine restrictions, allow AVIAKON to retain leadership in maintainance of airworthiness of the Ukrainian Army Aviation helicopter fleet.
